We ran through the underground city, splitting up to catch one of the three goons from Baumann's store. Rook had the Acrosian, Ben had the giant poultry, and the cyanic one was all mine. "You're gonna have to run faster, bite-size!!!" the cyanic one said, speeding up. We all met up on trolley tracks. "What happened?" Rook asked NRG-Ben. Ben sighed. "New Omnitrix. I'm still getting used to the controls," Ben said, making a pathetic excuse.

"Allow me," Rook said. He shot a taser drone at the giant chicken, taking him down. "Nicely done, Rook," Ben said. "For a newbie, I mean." I lightly giggled, causing Rook's face to light up. "Um, we should get back to our giant chicken," I said, straightening up. We walked over to the chicken. "Talk! Who's behind these alien shakedowns?" Ben asked. The chicken's eyes widened. "Bawk-bawk-Behind you!" he squawked.

"Even I will not fall for that...And this is my first day on Earth!" Rook said. I looked behind me. "Uh, boys!!!" I squeaked. We pushed the chicken out of the way, getting swept up by the trolley. "You three took out my brakes!!!" the driver snarled. I scoffed. "You ran us over!" Ben and I snarled back. The trolley stopped in a market area, allowing us and the passengers to get off the trolley. The driver drove off, ignoring Rook calling out, "Hey, you don't have brakes!"

The market was amazing. Why haven't we been here before? "I know I'm the new guy, Bendude..." Rook began. Ben glared. "Dude, Call. Me. Ben," Ben said.

"Ben, shouldn't. We. Go after. Those. Lowlifes?" Rook asked. I shook my head. "You really are a new guy, aren't you?" I asked. He blushed. "Not that new, Miss Tennyson," he said. I chuckled. "Please, call me Dawn. I must admit, though. You have skills. Enough to throw my brother in a tizzy. That's why he's acting the way he is to you. All you hafta do is prove yourself. Show him what you can do," I said. "Speaking of Ben, where is he?" We saw him at a food truck. "Excuse me," Rook said, showing his badge. "We are plumbers working on a case. Have you seen a couple of bipedal lowlifes run past here, one of them cyanic?"

"What?! No! I don't know nothin', I ain't seen nothin'!" the vendor said. He rain to the cockpit of his scooter-truck. "What about my tentacle?!" Ben asked. The vendor snorted. "Never heard of it! I don't sell nothin'! I ain't even here! Redspot Plumbers..." he snarled, driving off.

"Aw man, why did you have to go show your badge?!" Ben asked. Rook was confused. "Dawn said... I was interrogating a witness, but I may have misjudged..." Rook said. Ben sighed. "Don't bother. It's my fault for skipping breakfast," Ben said. "Besides, we shouldn't stress. Pretty soon the big bad will say, 'Ben Tennyson? Here to foil my plans?' and your lowlifes will be looking for us!" I was about to give up on helping Rook until I saw two aliens nearby, one of whom probably knew something.

"Rook, now's your chance!" I whispered, pointing at the two aliens. He smiled and walked over to them. "Excuse me, we are plumbers working on a case. Can I ask you some questions?" Rook asked both of them. Ben looked over at him. "Knock yourself out," he said unethusiastically. I had to help him. "Ben, what do you think about him?" I asked. Ben shrugged his shoulders. "He's a little flat to me. What do you think?" he asked.

"I kind of like him. Hardworking, polite, cute--" I began.

"What?!" I turned pink. "I said a hoot! His jokes are funny!" I chirped, trying to make a save. Ben gave me a smirk. "You got a crush on him, don't you?" Ben asked. I shook my head. I then overheard a little Kineceleran girl say, "Mommy, I got a bloody nose!" I ran past Ben. Before he could ask, I said, "There's a sale on bloody noses?!"

I managed to get back to Rook. "I think my help didn't work," I said. He sighed and got back to asking the balloonlike alien more questions. Suddenly, there was a crash behind us. A Lepidoterran was coming straight towards us and Ben. Rook grabbed me and the two aliens and jumped out of the way.  We ran to Water Hazard-Ben's side, only to be told he got this. The two of us watched as he was being mauled by the Lepidoterran. "Why are you two standing there?!" Ben asked. We gave him a smirk. "You 'GOT' this," we both said. Ben begged us to help. Before we could take it down, however, the Lepidoterran released a smoke cloud to hide it leaving.

"The one who sicked that monster on me... THAT'S the Big Bad!" Ben said. I gestured Rook  on. "I did find something in my investigation," Rook said. I nodded. Well, that something was a gashouse. "Lemme guess, the balloon squealed," Ben said. Rook nodded. "I was told this is where the cyanic one can be found this time of day," Rook said. Ben gave a light smirk. "I hope you two don't mind standing out here. That's poison gas!" Ben told us. We had our gas masks on and walked to the door. "Appendages in the air!" Rook said, showing his badge. Everyone in the bar stared at us and raised their limbs. "Will you cool it?" Terraspin Ben asked. "We are not cops... Well you two maybe, but I'm a superhero!" He sapped the poison gas out of the bar, finding the cyanic goon.

We caught him easily. "So, who's behind those shakedowns?" Ben asked. Bubblehelmet was gasping for air. "I'll tell you... As soon as I... Can breathe!" he gasped. Rook shrugged his shoulders. "Fair enough!" he chirped. As soon as he got his helmet back on, Bubblehelmet flew out of the bar, with us chasing him on Terraspin's back. "You never dealt with bad guys before, have you?" Ben asked. Rook shook his head. "But I've trained extensively!!!" he said. We followed him to where the shakedown machines were coming from. "Rook, Dawn. Heads up!" Ben shouted. We saw a bunch of goons surrounding us with guns armed. Ben, turning back to normal, walked up by us. "Nice job, you two," he snarled. He noticed the machine. "Look, a boatload of those shakedown machines. Which means, a boatload of shakedowns," Ben said.

"That is a lot?" Rook asked. I looked around. "Wait, I recognize these guys... They're..."

"Ben Tennyson? Here to ruin my plan? I think...not," Psyphon said with an evil smirk.

"Psyphon, I thought you were Vilgax's third toughest lackey. You've been doing all of this?!" Ben asked. Psyphon laughed evilly. "You've alway underestimated me, haven't you?" Psyphon laughed. "And you led them here. I don't know whether to thank you or eviscerate you!" Bubblehelmet trembled. "Thank me?" he asked quietly. Bubblehelmet got a thank you electrocution. "You can't imagine the pleasure have in saying this... Get Them!!!"

We began to fight the goons and Psyphon. However, the playing field was fixed by the Lepidoterran again, leaving Rook and I to chase after Psyphon. However, Psyphon was attracted to Rook's Proto-Tech armor, causing a problem. "The body armor's not for sale, Psyphon!" Rook shouted.

"Oh I don't want to buy it! I will pry it from your cold, lifeless body," he said. "How green are you?" Psyphon's reckless shooting caused a problem for him. The entire construction area collapsed on him, leaving us victorious. "Not so green that I let a tunnel collapse on me!" Rook said with a smirk. "I believe that was my first wisecrack!" I gave him a smile and a nod. "Nicely done," I said. We met up with Ben, who lost the Lepidoterran. "Ben, I made a wisecrack!" Rook chirped.

As Psyphon was being taken into custody, I noticed Ben and Grandpa Max talking. "Go on, Rook. Now's your chance!" I said. He walked up to Ben, Burger Barn bag in hand. "Excuse me, Ben. I know you haven't eaten yet. Magister Tennyson and Dawn told me you like these 'chili fries'. Care to join me and Dawn?" he asked Ben. Ben smiled and shook his hand. "Partner!" Ben said. Rook looked at me and got a thumbs up.
